About

Clay Beyersdorfer is an Army veteran, writer, and stand-up comedian whose work focuses on military culture, veteran life, and the strange overlap between service, pop culture, and civilian America. A former public affairs NCO with a deployment to Afghanistan, Clay brings lived experience to stories about mental health, history, media representation, and the everyday absurdities of military life. At We Are The Mighty, his work blends reported features, cultural commentary, and dark humor with an emphasis on accuracy, empathy, and storytelling that feels authentic to veterans without alienating civilians. Outside of writing, Clay performs stand-up comedy across the Midwest, studies long-form storytelling, and develops satire and cultural criticism rooted in real military experience.
