As military spouses, we tend to place our goals on hold for the sake of the military. It’s true: our education takes a back seat to training, temporary duty, moving around the world and deployments.

Finding higher education institutions that understand our military lifestyle, recognize our needs as military spouses, and, most importantly, care about our future and career path is a priority.

If you were being honest with yourself, what is the one thing that has stopped you from following your educational goals?

For many, the demands of military timing create uncertainty about a career path, increase family obligations, create financial concerns, making you feel unprepared and more.

However, National University recognizes this and has become the go-to university for military spouses who are seeking a higher education degree. Offering over 190 degree programs and tuition discounts for military spouses and dependents—getting back to school has never been this simple. As a veteran-founded non-profit, its mission is to provide accessible and achievable education. This is something military families have longed for as our interesting and adventure-filled lives need more flexibility when it comes to higher education.

As a veteran and military spouse myself, knowing that National University has my back is a huge weight off of my shoulders. It caters its programs to our lifestyle by creating flexible online classes, having 4 and 8-week courses, starting classes monthly, and having year-round enrollment. This makes it easy to start anywhere at any time!

National University also makes it easier for military spouses to balance their studies with family responsibilities and the demands of military life. They offer bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and certificate programs designed specifically with military members and their families in mind. Additionally, National University offers financial support options, such as scholarships and tuition discounts, to make education more affordable. It also offers a military-friendly tuition assistance reduction for families who cannot use the Post 9-11 GI BillⓇ.

Pursuing higher education goals as a military spouse can be intimidating, but we are known for our strength, our determination, and most of all, our capability. We tackle all that comes our way and drive on. Finding the right path to your academic advancement is something worth taking a chance on.
