Processed foods aren't evil, your brain is just dumb

Everyone other than the likes of the Nabisco executive board agrees that processed foods are bad for you. But why exactly are they pinned as the food version of Lucifer by modern popular health gurus?

Do they cause disease?

Do they have mind control chemicals in them?

Or,

Are they simply a misunderstood solution to a problem we no longer have as a society?

Meditation is like 'Bicep Curls' for your Brain

What type of exercise burns the most fat?

Forget everything you think you know about losing fat. I'm going to sum it up into one simple sentence.

"Burn more energy than you take in."

That's it.

When trying to figure out how to do this, most people ask the same basic question:

"What type of cardio should I do?"

That's the wrong question entirely.

The right question is:

How can I most significantly impact the amount of calories I burn in a day?

It's in a dark and wet corner of the gym. Half the gym-goers ignore it altogether. The other half use it to torture their spine as if it owes them money.

Do you need a Drill Instructor in your civilian life?

Remember your initial indoc school to the military? I do: It was hot and heavy, and not in a good way, like at a rave or water park. You were asked in a short period of time to learn the entire guiding doctrine of your service of choice, so much so that you could easily fold into the operational forces upon completion of the school.

That is no small task.

How was this accomplished? We weren't given textbooks and told to read. We weren't even put into classes and told to take notes. Nope.

Is that energy drink getting you closer to your fitness goal?

The main reason most people cite for their energy drink consumption is to get enough caffeine to get through the day. Been there, done that. I'm pretty sure there are more soul-sucking jobs in existence than fulfilling ones--we can't all write for We Are The Mighty and spend the rest of our time surfing... the waves are getting crowded and that's my job, you can't have it.

Let's look at the math for exactly how much caffeine is in the average energy drink versus a cup of coffee.

High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) vs High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

I led multiple combat conditioning programs in the Marine Corps, and I did my Martial Arts Instructor Certification at the MACE in Quantico with the creators of MCMAP. Yet, I had no idea what HITT was. I thought it was just a cheap rip-off of HIIT that the Marine Corps wanted to get their proprietary mitts on.

I was a little salty at certain points in my career.

The short of it is: HIIT is a type of workout and HITT is a comprehensive program that encompasses all aspects of fitness.
