BLK Ops Road Show shines at the Military Influencer Conference

BLK Ops Road Show

From September 29 to October 3, 2024, Atlanta hosted the eighth annual Military Influencer Conference (MIC), a groundbreaking nexus of military-connected entrepreneurs, creators, and leaders. Launched by U.S. Army veteran Curtez Riggs in Dallas in 2017, MIC is the place for creatives, entrepreneurs, advocates and the military community as a whole.

At the heart of the conference this year was the BLK OPS Roadshow + Live Panel, a dynamic showcase that merged cultural influence with the incredible untold stories of Black Operators. Headlining the panel was Grammy-winning rapper, activist and Atlanta native Killer Mike, who was joined by Tracey Lloyd (Emily J.T. Perez Foundation), Brig. Gen. Remo Butler, Leo Damiren (NU), and moderated by Georgia Representative Tanya Miller.

Killer Mike opened the night, telling the stories of the Buffalo Soldiers and Harlem Hellcats. “Black people are amazing patriots, and they deserve to have their voices amplified.” He also acknowledged the difficult relationship between law enforcement and communities, suggesting “a healthy distrust of the state,” but encouraged attendees to remember that “on the other side of that badge is an American.”

Beyond the panel, the BLK OPS Roadshow featured unbelievble entertainment, including a comedy show by Donnell Rawlings.

MIC is the largest gathering of Influential Leaders, Transitioning Service Members, Executives, Entrepreneurs, and Brands in the military space. In its ninth iteration, MIC has quickly grown into a powerful community of Military Influencers℠ who understand the importance of mentorship, storytelling, and collaboration. Join us next year in September once again at the Hilton Signia Atlanta!
