Cancer Memoir: Real-time update – I’m struggling

Those Friday the 13th vibes… This week has been bananas. I started a new treatment: Radiation Therapy. I am interrupting my cancer memoir today with a real-life update.

I’ve been struggling this week to adjust to my new treatment schedule. I drive 45 minutes one way to Radiation Therapy, 30 minutes to get my glow on, and 45 minutes back. Y’all, my house is a complete disaster. Dinner this week has been through a drive-thru more times than I wanted. I have re-washed the same load of laundry two times because it sat in the washer. It’s been a busy mom life with getting the kids to and from school and to soccer practices because, as luck would have it, Jeremy has been underway this week (Coastie Life).

So, today, Friday the 13th, I want to remind you all and myself that we all have our crazy days, which sometimes turn into crazy weeks. Life is a marathon, not a sprint; it’s progress over perfection and taking it one day at a time. We will pick back up next Friday, but until then, please drop a comment with your win or joy of the week. It’s a good reminder that even through the hard and crazy chaos, there are still moments of joys and wins. Shine on.
