Best Veterans Day discounts and freebies for 2023

Veterans Day is only a few days out, with a bonus day “observed” by federal entities on Friday, November 10. Take a look at the biggest deals, discounts, and free items that are available on this upcoming Veterans Day. We’re talking free meals, redeemable freebies, discounted groceries, and more. 

Army Corp of Engineers Recreation Areas

Day-use fees will be waived on November 11th. This deal is good nationwide.

Applebee’s

Applebee's offers a free meal on Veterans Day to active duty members and veterans alike. Members will get a choice of seven entrees and earn a $5 card for their next stop. Proof of service is required. 

Bigby Coffee

Hot or iced coffee for free, up to 24 oz. Good for brewed coffee. 

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse

Get a chocolate chunk pizookie for free when you spend at least $11.95 on Saturday. Dine-in only. 

Buffalo Wild Wings

Vets and active members get a free 10-piece boneless wings meal plus fries. Saturday; dine-in only. 

Chicken Salad Chick

Get a Chick Meal for free with a beverage on Saturday. 

Bob Evans 

Another choice of seven meals from Bob Evans; valid for dine-in only.

Bonefish Grill 

Snag an order of Bonefish Grill’s bang bang shrimp and a free non-alcoholic drink with a valid military ID. No purchase necessary; 10% discounts to veterans/military year-round. 

California Pizza Kitchen

A free entree is provided to veterans from a limited menu. In addition, their guests can earn a buy-one-get-one offer on select items for a future visit. Military members also earn a free non-alcoholic drink. Dine-in only. 

Carrabba’s Italian Grill

Get a free appetizer or dessert and non-alcoholic drink for veterans or active duty members. 10% discount is also provided year-round.

Denny’s

Free Grand Slam to active duty members and veterans on Saturday; valid ID required. Available until noon; dine-in only. 

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Get a free Freddy’s original double combo meal card, good through November 30th. No purchase necessary. 

Gold Star

Vets and members can get a free meal or $12 off their order. 

Golden Corral

Special Military Appreciation Night on Nov. 13, where all military members and veterans receive a free meal. Dine-in only from 5 pm to close. 

Hooters

A free meal, available from a special menu, is available to veterans with the purchase of a drink. Dine-in only. 

Hy-Vee

On Friday between 6 am and 10 am, veterans and active members can get a free breakfast when they dine-in. In addition, 15% off groceries in-store and online. 

IHOP

Get a free pancake combo between 7 am and 7 pm on November 11th. Dine-in only.

IKEA

In-store purchases by veterans or active duty members are eligible for a 15% discount on purchases $3,000 or less. Offer good between Nov. 10 and Nov. 22. Members can also earn a free meal from the IKEA restaurant Nov. 10, 11, and 12. 

Pirate Water Taxi

Between November 10 and 12, veterans and active duty can ride for free. ID required. First-come, first-serve basis.
