EMerge Americas 2025 certainly didn’t disappoint. The premier global tech conference and expo is held annually in Miami and is dedicated to shaping the future of technology and innovation.

Why should vets care about eMerge Americas?

Transitioning from military service to civilian life can be challenging, especially when exploring new career paths. The tech industry, with its dynamic and innovative environment, offers a plethora of opportunities that align well with the skills and experiences veterans bring to the table. eMerge Americas recognizes this synergy and has tailored programs specifically for veterans.

Dan Sylvester, military care giver and partner at law firm Holland & Knight, said, “It was a great conference. It touched so many aspects of technology, national security and defense. The international flavor of it was unprecedented. Veterans should attend this conference because it plays to their strengths and disciplines of entrepreneurs. The connections I made here will lead to long-term business relationships and expand on our newly developed national security and defense industry sector group.”

Veteran employment workshop

One of the standout features this year was the Veteran Employment Workshop. In collaboration with The Military Veteran (TMV), led by Brendan Aronson, this workshop is designed to equip veterans with essential tools, insights, and connections to seamlessly transition into civilian careers, particularly in the tech and defense sectors.

eGov Summit

The eGov Summit at eMerge Americas provides a rare chance to engage with military generals, top government officials, and defense leaders as they share groundbreaking insights into the future of defense innovation. As Editor in Chief for We Are The Mighty, I had the opportunity to moderate a panel about space commercialization. Our session was titled: “Beyond Earth: Unlocking Innovation and Opportunities in the New Space Economy.” With Col. Rob Long (USAF, Ret), the President and CEO of Space Florida, Col. Bill Woolf USSF (Ret.) and Brian Fonseca, Director, Institute for Public Policy at FIU, we discussed the commercialization of space transforming the way we think about innovation and the future of humanity. We explored how advancements in space technology are opening new frontiers for business, research, and exploration. From satellite deployment and space tourism to groundbreaking technologies driving sustainable growth, we delved into the opportunities and challenges of the burgeoning space economy.

Through powerful keynotes and expert panels, attendees explore emerging technologies, dual-use innovations, and critical national security strategies. Interactive workshops tailored for veterans and entrepreneurs deliver practical guidance on navigating tech careers, securing government contracts, and launching ventures—positioning participants at the forefront of defense and government technology breakthroughs.

Networking opportunities

With over 20,000 attendees from 60+ countries, eMerge Americas is a melting pot of ideas and opportunities. It’s not just about listening to speakers; it’s about engaging in meaningful conversations, sharing your story, and building relationships that could lead to your next career move or business venture.

Exclusive discount

Recognizing the value veterans bring, eMerge Americas offers discounted pricing for government, military, veterans, and first responders. This initiative underscores their commitment to making the event accessible and beneficial for those who’ve served.

Miami: The perfect backdrop

Beyond the conference, Miami offers a vibrant and diverse culture. From its beautiful beaches to its thriving tech scene, the city provides an inspiring environment to think big and innovate. eMerge Americas

If you’re a veteran looking to dive into the tech world, explore entrepreneurial ventures, or simply expand your network, eMerge Americas is the place to be.
